Advanced Distribution Networks & Renewable Integration
Our current research focuses on the risk-aware hosting capacity of electrical distribution networks with high integration of photovoltaic (PV) systems. We develop advanced mathematical formulations to manage uncertainty using Conditional Value at Risk (CVaR) and optimize Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) under strict ramp-rate constraints.
Extensive simulations are conducted using MATPOWER and MATLAB on standard IEEE test feeders (such as the 33-bus and 123-bus systems) to analyze the impact of load fluctuations and extreme solar data scenarios.
